Methodist Church announces carbon reduction policy

The Methodist Church signed up to a series of carbon reduction commitments at its annual Conference last week.

The Conference pledged to reduce Church’s carbon emissions by 80 per cent by 2050 in line with Government targets.

The church is also asking for views on 'Hope in God's Future' - the draft Methodist Conference Statement on climate change. The results of the consultation will determine the recommendations that are put to Conference in 2011.
